Well-heeled guests hailing from Duxbury to Boston gathered beneath a beautiful white tent on the lawn at the Winsor House Inn in Duxbury for a Swing into Summer luncheon and fashion show. The event, which took place on June 11, showcased the latest summertime styles by designer Sara Campbell and flavorful dishes created by Executive Chef Franco Carubia. The party also helped raise money for the local charity Crossroads for Kids, which provides urban youth with a classic summer camp experience.
Local models, beautifully coiffed by the staff at Charles David Salon, were applauded as they strutted down the runway in colorful cocktail dresses. Meanwhile, guests were served a delicious summertime menu consisting of a refreshing gazpacho and savory chicken over field greens, paired with a delicious white wine. Tiers of delicate fruit-flavored French macarons set on tables made for delightful dessert displays.
Everything about the afternoon affair was elegantly executed, which should come as no surprise considering that the owners of the Winsor House Inn, Holly Safford and husband Chuck Weilbrenner and sons Alex and Andrew Marconi, also own and operate The Catered Affair, one of New England’s most esteemed catering companies. In other words, the family is no stranger to throwing a great party. Since taking over the historic Duxbury restaurant and inn in 2013, the family has been working hard to elevate the quality of the dining experience while maintaining a sense of hometown charm. And what better way to give the locals a taste for what the Winsor House has to offer then by throwing a swanky summer soiree.
