Q&A with Susie Caliendo, Waterfront Realty Group

Meet realtor Susie Caliendo of Duxbury-based Waterfront Realty Group

How long have you been working in the real estate industry?

I began my career in real estate in 2008 as a home staging consultant. I have a background in interior design and my home was featured on the cover of the May 2002 issue of Better Homes and Gardens. This article opened many doors for me and led to a career as a home staging consultant. One of my proudest achievements was having a home I staged featured in The Wall Street Journal.

What inspired you to become a real estate professional?

Real estate has always been a passion of mine and seemed like a natural transition. I obtained my real estate license in 2012. It was a perfect career choice for a high-energy person like me.

What types of services do you offer and specialize in?

I am proud to be part of a great team of professionals at Waterfront Realty. We offer everything from marketing (whether it be print or television) to moving trucks. I like to share testimonials from past clients who can attest to my attention, sound advice and integrity.

The main tool that sets me apart from other agents is my staging background. I stage each of my listings. I do not charge my clients any money for this service. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to prepare a home for the market. It is the key to getting the best photographs and putting forth the best product. Creating a warm, comfortable and stylish home can help a seller achieve a timely sale at an optimal price. And when I’m working as a buyer’s agent, I can often help a buyer see the potential in a home that may require a little imagination and vision.

What advice do you have for people looking to buy or sell a home?

The South Shore is a hot place to live right now. Whether you are a first-time buyer or an empty nester looking to downsize, I am sensitive to the fact that moving can be very emotional. I am always respectful. My goal is to make the entire transaction a positive experience. I put that at the top of my list as far as priorities go.

What is the best part about working on the South Shore?

I feel that selling real estate on the South Shore is a dream job. I feel very blessed to have a job I love, and I bring passion and enthusiasm to every sale. I want every one of my clients to be able to say I exceeded their expectations in every way.
