Meet Laura Graziano of Laura Graziano Staging & Interiors
What led you to pursue a career in interior design?
Even as a child, I always wanted a say in what paint colors were chosen and where furniture would be placed in a room. In 2005, I staged a property for a friend who worked in real estate and my career really took off from there.
What services do you specialize in and offer clients?
Staging occupied and vacant homes, interior decorating, space planning, furniture layout and color schemes. I also assist clients in purchasing furnishings, artwork and decorative accessories.
How would you describe your design aesthetic?
I prefer traditional designs with a contemporary flair. If you look at traditional styles and compare them to some of the latest decorating trends, you most likely will see that nothing is truly new, but rather revamped.
What home design trends are you excited to implement and share with your clients in 2018?
I’m excited about using warmer kitchen colors, rather than the whites and greys. Jewel tones, purples and greens in shades of olive and chartreuse are going to be very popular along with wood tones. There will also be more plush fabrics, like velvet.
What advice do you have for those interested in hiring an interior designer/home stager?
I would advise clients to keep an open mind. You always have choices and my goal is to give you good choices and solve problems, putting pieces together that complement each client’s lifestyle and individual personalities. Decluttering and depersonalizing allows the buyer to imagine that this could be their home. Also, furnishing vacant properties will help complement the space and bring out the home’s best features.
What do you love most about your job?
I enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories, and then working together to make their living space work for them. If someone is selling their home, we focus on how to make the property outshine the competition. It’s so fun to transform a property to sell.
