Marshfield artist Betty Rogers finds beauty in ordinary objects and is known for her vibrant watercolor paintings. “Red is my favorite color, and I love pomegranates, so when I saw these at a market in Boston I was inspired to do this painting,” says Rogers. She uses bold pigments and several layers of washes to capture the form and texture of her subjects as well as the perception of light and shadow. Rogers is a Signature Member of the New England Watercolor Society as well as a Galley Artist at the Plymouth Guild and the South Shore Art Center in Cohasset. More of her artwork can be found on her website.
