Paint Like Picasso

Looking to channel your inner Van Gogh?

Or do the kids need a creative outlet this April vacation week? Artist Liz Boston’s new art studio and retail shop in Weymouth might be just the ticket. A former president of the Weymouth Art Association and School of the Museum of Fine Arts graduate, Boston offers fine arts classes for artists of all skill levels.

Students are required to bring their own supplies, including paints, brushes and a picture to paint, and Boston takes care of the rest. Classes are kept small (average 5 students), which means students get plenty of 1-on-1 instruction time. “Students learn to become artists,” Boston says. “I teach them how to translate their image onto the canvas, and about shading and color mixing.” Walk-in-times for those wanting to paint a la carte are also available. Guests can purchase a paint kit for $9 and spend an afternoon creating their own masterpiece—perfect for youngsters or those just wanting to test their creativity. 66 Sea St., N. Weymouth, 781-789-8063, www.lizbostonartstudio.com
