Snow was gently falling when Norwell-based photographer Tom Sheehan happened upon this tranquil winter doorway scene at Norris Reservation. “I was on my way back from photographing a young seal resting on a rock when I happened to notice the ribbon, holly and pine over the doorway of the boathouse,” says Sheehan. “It was the first time I had ever seen this, so I took out my tripod-mounted Nikon with my zoom lens and took a few shots.” Sheehan specializes in architectural and real estate photography but his body of work also includes senior portraits, weddings and scenic shots of the South Shore. He has won juried awards from the Massachusetts Audubon Society for his nature photography and his work has appeared in a number of magazines.
