Models dressed in Fall’s hottest fashions strutted their stuff at the Pink October fashion show and luncheon hosted by Chel Bella owner Chelsea Orr on October 6, in benefit of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Held at Square Café (just one block from Orr’s store), the event is the first installment of an ongoing series of fashion shows and shopping events called Chel Bella for Charity, which will raise money for local and national non-profit organizations.
“I chose breast cancer [for this event] because it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and I feel it’s a cause that has touched most of us, more than anything else as women,” Orr said.
The glamorous day was attended by just over 100 of Orr’s close friends, family and most fashionable clients and included a three-course lunch and fashion presentation of gorgeous autumnal looks by Diane von Furstenberg, Milly and Alice + Olivia, all styled by Orr. Boston style guru, breast cancer survivor and spokesperson for the Boston chapter of the BCRF, Elisha Daniels, also spoke on behalf of the charity. PR extraordinaire Kelley Doyle (who also helped plan and promote the event), philanthropist and Patriots Nation First Lady Linda Holliday, Orr’s husband and NHL talent scout Darren Orr and his father, hockey legend Bobby Orr, were also in attendance.
30% of ticket sales from the event, which sold out in mere days, were donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, as were 20% of the boutique’s in-store sales from the day.
