Duxbury Gets a New Raw Bar

There’s a bit of a revival going on in the quiet village of Duxbury and The Oysterman Raw Bar and Tavern is at the center of the action. Owner Dermot Loftus took over a small building in town that previously housed a casual taco joint. He completely renovated the space, even moving the door to the opposite side of the restaurant. Inside, a long bar stretches the length of dining room with 20 taps that offer a collection of craft beers. Tables with comfortable booth seating are arranged along the opposite wall and at the far end of the restaurant there is a brightly lit raw bar manned by local oyster experts. This is the kind of place customers can feel comfortable asking a lot of raw bar questions and where you can find out where your meal came from. Not everything on the menu comes out of a shell though. They also make some mean fish tacos and can grilled up your New York sirloin or burger just the way you like it.
