Checking out Café Roo

Situated at the heart of the village green at The Pinehills, Café Roo is a cozy spot to grab a coffee or a bite to eat. Open for breakfast and lunch, this new eatery is a culinary spinoff from the owners of the popular Roo Bar restaurant. The décor is slightly rustic, with rough-hewn wood plank walls, high ceilings with pendant lights and a slate-front fireplace. Customers come in bright and early for fresh baked muffins, thick-sliced French toast and strong coffee sourced from the Plymouth-based craft coffee roaster, Speedwell Coffee. The lunch menu has a selection of soups, paninis, flatbreads and sandwiches. The grilled cheese is a good choice on a cold winter day. The sandwich is made on rosemary bread with chipotle cheddar cheese, sliced apples, crisp strips of bacon and optional strips of buffalo chicken (go for the chicken). Other menu items include a Roo-Bah B.L.T and an eggplant panini. Takeout is also available. 12 Village Green, Plymouth, 774-773-9005
