Buttery Bliss

Baked in small batches daily, Spritzal Cookie Company’s hand-pressed Swedish almond butter cookies have gained quite a following since launching last May. Jody Walker, the owner and self-proclaimed “butcher, baker, and candlestick maker” of Spritzal Cookie Company says her goal is to use as many local and regional ingredients as possible, including Ocean Spray cranberries, Vermont butter, Vermont-made King Arthur flour and locally sourced, farm-fresh eggs. “It’s a true New England cookie,” Walker says proudly of her product.

The cookies follow the recipe of Walker’s great-grandmother, Nannie Gretta, and come in a variety of delicious flavors, like cranberry, almond and Ghirardelli chocolate (currently Walker’s most popular flavor), lemon Spritz, chocolate chip, almond and toasted coconut (a play on Almond Joy), the original Spritz almond cookie, as well as flavored cookie pops. Crunchy, sweet and sinfully good, each buttery bite is better than the last. Spritizal cookies are currently available at The Fruit Center Marketplace, in Hingham, and may also be ordered online through Spritzal Cookie Company’s Facebook page.
