A meeting of artistic minds took place this past June as 35 artists from around the South Shore took part in the first ever Artist Exchange with fellow artists from the North Shore. The exchange was the brainchild of South Shore painter Nancy Colella, who came up with the idea while participating in a workshop in Gloucester, Massachusetts, two years ago. North Shore painter Judythe Meager proposed the concept to the North Shore Arts Association (NSAA) and the group agreed to host the event. The South Shore group hopped on a school bus and traveled to Rocky Neck, where they painted classic seaside views of Gloucester Harbor together with 35 North Shore artists. The South Shore group plans to reciprocate the gesture and host a similar event this fall or perhaps early next year. For more information, visit www.nancycolellastudio.com.
