The South Shore Natural Science Center is pleased to announce the opening of their summer Juried Art Show “Beyond the Garden Gate”. Artwork will be on display in SSNSC’s Vine Hall Gallery from June 30 to August 25, 2018. The SSNSC is open Monday through Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Vine Hall Gallery is a multi-use space; please call ahead for availability.
The winners will be announced at a “Meet the Artist” Reception on Wednesday, July 25 from 6-8pm. Light refreshments will be served and the public is invited. The reception will also include the pieces created by the plein aire painters during the 37th annual “Through the Garden Gate” Garden Tour on July 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year’s tour features 9 gardens in Hanover, Scituate, and Norwell. “In addition to the beautiful, yet traditional view of amazing local gardens,” Liz Carreiro, Chair of the Garden Tour Committee suggests that we, “head to an intriguing exhibit inside the Science Center. Here you will have the opportunity to see flora from the viewpoint of an artist’s brain. Enhance and expand your appreciation of our green and flowering world!”
