You are cordially invited to the birthday party of Miss Mary Eustis, who grew up at the Eustis Estate in the late nineteenth century. Learn about Victorian birthday traditions and what life was like for children over 100 years ago. Play lawn games, make party favors, and enjoy some cake and lemonade on the porch.
1:30 – 2:30 Dance Lessons: The Victorians loved to dance! Join us on the lawn as we learn three dances that were popular during the late 1800s. These group dances are fun, easy to learn, and will include American classics such as The Virginia Reel. The dances will be taught by vintage dance instructor Ruth Benson Levin.
2:00 and 2:30 Ice Cream: The Ice Creamsmith of Lower Mills demonstrates ice cream making in the Eustis kitchen. See how ice cream was made before electric freezers, and try some samples.
Included with museum admission.
