It’s time for the Scituate Garden Club’s much-anticipated annual plant sale. The sale, the Club’s 20th, will be held Saturday, May 19, 9am-1pm at the Mann Farm House at the corner of Stockbridge Road and Greenfield Lane in Scituate. Plan to arrive early – popular plants sell out fast!
Something for everyone. Whether you’re into vegetables, window boxes and containers, or the perfect plant for a perennial border, the Scituate Garden Club plant sale offers a vast array of choices, including annuals, perennials, hostas, day lilies, herbs and vegetables. Many of the plants for sale are perennials divided from plants growing in members own gardens.Marla Minier, plant sale chairman, reminds us that, “These plants thrive in the members’ gardens and will thrive in yours because they are best suited to growing in this area.”
Tomatoes. The popular member-grown “West End” heirloom and hybrid varieties of tomato plants will be available. Varieties offered include San Marzano, Pink Brandywine, Sun Gold, Mountain Magic, Black Cherry, Honey Bunch, Mountain Majesty, Black Prince, Juliet and more.
Sale also includes expert master gardeners available for questions, a bee expert, baby animals from 4H, Wildflower tours and more!
