The Aldous Collins Band and AZ Studio of Hingham are joining forces — along with the band “Soul Love” and The Corner Stop restaurant — to bring an excellent entertainment event to Hingham Square and raise funds for Puerto Rican Hurricane Maria relief. The event runs from 4:00-9:00 pm, with Soul Love playing from 4:00–7:00, and The Aldous Collins Band from 7:00-9:00.
To attend, simply come to AZ Studio with a financial donation. Be prepared for great music, great energy, and more opportunities to help. Aldous Collins, a fine visual artist as well as the leading member of the band that’s rocking the music scene, will donate 20% of proceeds from the sale of his painting “Aqua Velva” to this effort. Silent auction items will also be on hand to benefit the people of Puerto Rico.
AZ Studio is hoping for a “sell out” of this event. “There are people still living in Puerto Rico without roofs and walls. in places off the radar of most relief organizations,” says AZ Studio sylist Roberto Echevarria, founder of The People vs. Hurricane Maria relief fund, “and no way to get them, without help. We’re very involved with elderly people living alone, people with physical disabilities, and single mothers with young children. This event is a great way to get involved from here.”
Saturday, May 12 @ 4–9 pm. RELOCATED TO THE HINGHAM COMMUNITY CENTER AROUND THE CORNER, 79 SOUTH ST., HINGHAM, . Pre-registration is not required. Come anytime during the event. Arrive with a financial donation to enter. (No donated items, please.) Checks may be made out to “The People vs. Hurricane Maria.”
